Controller for Dealership and Rental Company

Overview The Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring the accuracy of financial information, maintaining internal controls, and leading the accounting team. This role plays a key part in financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and supporting strategic decision‑making. Key Responsibilities Oversee all accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition. Prepare timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes. Develop and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets. Coordinate and direct budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. Collaborate with external auditors for the annual audit. Provide financial analysis and insights to support executive decision‑making. Supervise and mentor accounting staff; build a high‑performing finance team. Improve accounting processes and systems for scalability and efficiency. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred). Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including leadership roles. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax regulations. Proficiency with accounting software QuickBooks, NetSuite and Excel. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Experience in automotive industry preferred. Preferred Skills CPA certification. Experience with CDK. Strong leadership and team‑building skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, growing environment.
