RN Emergency Room Nurse

Job Summary:

We seek a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Emergency Room (ER) care. The ER Nurse will provide skilled nursing care in a fast-paced critical access hospital setting, managing emergency patients with diverse and urgent medical needs. Key responsibilities include patient assessment, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality emergency care. Candidates must have 3-5 years of ER nursing experience and demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills. Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments in the emergency room setting.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and appropriate for emergency care.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for emergency patients.
• Collaborate with physicians, healthcare providers, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to changes or emergencies.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and interventions.
• Participate in patient and family education regarding emergency care and follow-up.
• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Vermont.
• 3-5 years of experience in Emergency Room nursing.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Experience with critical care equipment such as ventilators, IV lines, and cardiac monitors.
• Previous experience working in a Critical Access Hospital environment.

Special Considerations:

• Shift includes Mid-shift hours of either 11AM-11PM or 1PM-1AM with some rotating shifts.
• Work every other weekend is required.
• Position guarantees a minimum of 72 hours bi-weekly.
• Must be able to work in a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital setting.

Scheduling:

• Mid-shift schedule with shifts from 11AM to 11PM or 1PM to 1AM.
• Rotating shifts may be required.
• Work schedule includes every other weekend.
