Xylem is looking for a Field Service and Inventory Technician to report to our Fort Lauderdale, FL location and support both field service operations and inventory/warehouse functions. This role is approximately 50% field-based and 50% warehouse/inventory-focused, supporting our water treatment equipment and service teams across the surrounding area.

What your day will look like as a Field Service and Inventory Technician

The Field Service and Inventory Technician is responsible for the installation, service, and maintenance of water purification equipment at customer sites, utilizing a company service vehicle. In addition, this role plays a key part in warehouse operations, inventory management, and material readiness to ensure efficient field service execution.

Field Service Responsibilities (Approximately 50%)

• Install, service, troubleshoot, and maintain water treatment and purification equipment at customer sites
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs
• Identify and resolve potential safety concerns at customer locations
• Maintain a high level of professionalism in a customer-facing role
• Accurately document service activities using Microsoft Office tools and smart devices
• Participate in a compensated on-call rotation with occasional afternoons/weekends

Inventory & Warehouse Responsibilities (Approximately 50%)

• Receive, inspect, stock, and organize parts, tools, and water treatment equipment in the warehouse
• Maintain accurate inventory levels through tracking, cycle counts, and system updates
• Pick, stage, and prepare materials and equipment for scheduled field service jobs
• Coordinate inventory replenishment and communicate material needs with service and operations teams
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment
• Load and unload service vehicles as needed to support daily operations

Equipment-specific training will be provided. We are willing to train the right person; however, prior technical, mechanical, plumbing, warehouse, or inventory experience is strongly encouraged.

This position has general day shift hours with overtime opportunities.

Position Requirements for Field Service and Inventory Technicians

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year of work experience preferred
• 12 years of technical experience preferred; industrial or commercial process water experience a plus
• Warehouse, inventory control, or logistics experience preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Office and the ability to utilize smart devices
• Ability to work in a high customer-facing role
• Ability to identify and remedy potential safety concerns
• Ability to lift, move, and handle equipment and materials in a warehouse environment
• Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, MVR, and DOT physical
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
