Our 3rd year Pharmacy Interns play a critical role in supporting our pharmacy teams to consistently deliver on our brand promise, while developing their own skills in preparation for increasing responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Living our purpose by following all company SOPs at each workstation to help our Pharmacists and Technicians manage and improve patient health.
• Following pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, and drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
• Contributing to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy and caring service, offering immunizations, providing point‑of‑care testing, and escalating patient problems when necessary.
• Offering counseling, fielding medical questions, and soliciting patient medical history under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Taking telephonic prescriptions, calling prescribers to clarify or facilitate medication changes where state regulation allows.
• Providing in‑the‑moment coaching, training, and mentorship to pharmacy team members while sharing best practices.
• Completing inventory activities such as putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, and waiting‑bin inventories as directed.
• Actively seeking growth opportunities, embracing a growth mindset, and expanding clinical and technical knowledge to better assist patients.
• Remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs, including traveling to stores in the market for required shifts.
• Complying with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles. Adhering to CVS policies and procedures for patient safety, controlled substance dispensing, and patient privacy.
• Delivering additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, testing, voluntary off‑site clinic staffing) where allowable by law and supported by required training.

• When applicable, supporting immunizations by:
  • Completing licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status.
  • Educating patients about vaccines and referring for pharmacist‑on‑duty vaccination questions.
  • Monitoring and responding to adverse reactions, reporting per public health requirements.
  • Collecting patient information and documenting per applicable protocols.

Required Qualifications

• Accepted into or actively enrolled in an ACPE‑accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Possess or be in the process of obtaining valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ year related experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service.
• Ability to become immunization certified and provide patient immunizations.
• Ability to work in multiple store locations to meet business needs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Pay Range

Pay Range: $20.00 – $23.75
