Housing Associate (Administrative Assistant)

Summary:

The Housing Associate assists Housing Director and the team by screening candidates, maintaining accurate intake data and creating client files per program standards. Works collaboratively with housing staff to ensure paperwork and follow ups are timely with clients, landlords and outside providers to achieve performance outcomes of the programs.

Essential Functions:

• Demonstrate excellent customer service consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission, and Values of the organization.
• Compile and implement necessary objectives of housing programs to ensure outcomes are met and assists consumers in meeting tenancy requirements, i.e. payments and lease requirements.
• Provide outreach and establish relationships with landlords to market housing programs and develop an inventory of available housing units for clients with a range of pricing.
• Coordinates clients' applications to subsidy programs such as Section 8, or other types of permanent housing solutions with Case Manager to coordinate follow up efforts.
• Maintains records of referrals, assessments and placement plans in compliance with HUD requirements; enters in data to provide internal reports of program activity.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Regular Full-time classification. Generally, Monday through Friday. Hours and days may vary based on the needs of the organization.

Required Education & Experience:

• High School diploma or GED.
• One to two years of strong administrative experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and database applications.

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Associate's degree in business, Human Services, Business, or related field.
• Two to three years experience working in a busy office setting; experience with disenfranchised or at-risk individuals related in a homeless service and/or in a case management setting.

Pay: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
