OHSU Transportation Position

OHSU is Oregon's only public academic health center. We are a system of hospitals and clinics across Oregon and southwest Washington. This position is responsible for transporting medical equipment, mail, labs, blood products and supplies to and from various locations within the OHSU environment. This transporting work is completed using the Teletracking transportation software and the current technology used to obtain transportation jobs.

Function/Duties of Position

• Transports medical equipment, mail, labs, blood products and supplies to and from various locations within the OHSU environment. These locations are, but not limited to nursing units, diagnostic areas, clinics, exam rooms, operating rooms, laboratories, morgue or offices.
• Operates elevators for patient and equipment movement. Relieves elevator operators for breaks.
• Cleans and disinfects transportation medical equipment: stretchers, wheelchairs, morgue carts, Hover Matts, pillows and utility transport carts.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to safely transfer equipment, supplies, specimens and blood.
• Must be responsible and properly trained in the transportation of bio-hazardous items within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Healthcare or hospital experience.
• Experience in safe transporting of specimens, blood products, equipment and supplies

Additional Details

• Risk of exposure to infectious disease, blood, body fluids and/or tissue as well as other unpleasant elements such as accidents, injuries and illness.
• Risk of exposure to and be required to handle varying unpredictable, emergency and crisis situations.

• PPE when necessary: gloves, mask, gown, bonnet, and shoe covers
