Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Valid state license in hand Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - Experience in trauma, neuro, vascular, and orthopedic nursing - Willingness to cover one night shift within the contract as needed - Experience with charting systems, specifically Epic - Ability to float between like units as needed Description: Candidates must have trauma, neuro, vascular, and orthopedic experience due to trauma status. This position may require covering one night shift within the contract as necessary. Applicants should be prepared to work weekends and have on-call responsibilities. On-call duties will be shared equally among the nursing staff every six weeks, which may involve up to 6-8 shifts in a six-week period, including nights, evenings, and weekends. First-time travelers are accepted for this position. The operating room environment includes working with a wide variety of patient profiles, including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The average daily census involves approximately 25 surgical cases. Interdisciplinary support includes various specialized services to ensure comprehensive patient care. The team dynamic on night shifts generally consists of two personnel, either one Registered Nurse and one Surgical Technician or two Registered Nurses, with one acting as the scrub nurse. Travelers may be expected to float within the hospital or to nearby facilities as needed. Travelers' refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment. Candidates must be available to work during major holidays and should include their time-off restrictions with their application. Providers must have valid contact devices to fulfill job responsibilities as required. Housing options in the area may be limited, and travelers should plan accordingly. Modules are completed pre-start and annually, with time spent being self-reported.
