The opportunity EY-Parthenon’s Transactions and Corporate Finance team focuses on addressing the private equity and institutional investors key agenda, covering investment evaluation, value creation strategy and commercial due diligence. We are very active in the market and have deep relationships with Private Equity (PE) clients and Sovereign Wealth Funds (SWFs) as well as their portfolio companies (portcos) The role is focused on serving clients in the education sector, including investors and education sector operators. A secondary focus is on commercial due diligences in other sectors, including Consumer Products, Retail, Healthcare, Business services and Industrials. - Delivering impact as part of high-performing engagement teams supporting private equity investors, sovereign wealth funds, infrastructure funds and corporate clients on strategic and transaction-related priorities. Engagements typically span commercial due diligence, growth strategy, market assessment, business plan validation, value creation strategy and performance improvement.
- Independently leading engagements end to end, with responsibilities spanning from scoping, planning the engagement, structuring the team, driving execution, leading stakeholder engagements and managing engagement economics.
- Assessing market attractiveness, competitive positioning, customer dynamics and growth opportunities, while evaluating the sustainability of business plans, commercial risks and value creation potential.
- Supporting portfolio companies and corporate clients in identifying and executing value creation initiatives, including growth acceleration, operating model enhancement, commercial excellence and strategic transformation programs.
- Supporting leaders in the Transactions and Corporate Finance practice in driving business development efforts. This will involve leading research on PE/SWF portcos in Singapore and the Asean region and formulating hypotheses and points of views, developing relationships with PE/SWF clients and portco management teams, developing client proposals and pitches, supporting with commercial negotiations, helping to organise client events e.g. EY-Parthenon seminars, roundtables and panel discussions and demonstrating thought leadership e.g. publishing articles and participating in podcasts
- Coaching and developing junior team members, fostering a culture of analytical rigor, collaboration and professional growth.
- Strong commercial acumen and hypothesis-driven problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to structure complex issues and translate insights into strategic recommendations.
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, including market sizing, financial and business model assessment, competitive benchmarking and performance analysis.
- Familiarity with using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to improve efficiency and productivity of engagement delivery (Note: EY-Parthenon has developed its own AI tools/agents and appropriate training will be provided)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to develop clear and compelling executive-level deliverables and presentations.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with senior management teams, investors and other stakeholders.
- Ability to develop strong and lasting client as well as internal relationships with other sub-service line Partner and Directors within EY-Parthenon
- Proven project management and team leadership capabilities, with a strong focus on quality, delivery and client impact.
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, transaction-driven environments with multiple concurrent priorities and tight timelines.
- Flexible to travel within and outside Singapore (primarily ASEAN), depending on client and transaction requirements.
- A Master's degree from a leading institution (MBA is an advantage).
- Minimum experience of 8 years for Associate Director 10 years for Director within top-tier strategy consulting firms, transaction advisory practices, private equity firms, investment banks or strategy teams within leading corporates.
- Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Commercial due diligence
- Corporate and growth strategy
- Market assessment and opportunity evaluation
- Business plan assessment and strategic transformation
- Experience leading teams, managing senior client stakeholders and delivering executive-level recommendations.
