Job Summary:
The Differentiation Specialist acts as teacher, leader, collaborator, and manager to ensure that high-quality differentiated instruction is provided, and learning is maximized for all students. Qualifications:
Professional Educator License, valid and active in Illinois ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Consults with principals, teachers, and school improvement coordinators to develop and oversee appropriate academic programs and goals for enriching students. 2. Oversees communication and reporting of goals to parents. 3. Develops knowledge of the overall elementary curriculum in order to collaborate and consult with teachers to provide differentiated instruction in elementary classrooms. 4. Plans and provides professional learning for teachers in the areas of enrichment and differentiation of instruction. 5. Collects, organizes, manages, interprets, and uses data effectively to guide differentiated instruction in the school division. 6. Works collaboratively with the instructional coach and director of teaching and learning to coordinate and implement programming. 7. Models traits of efficacy, flexibility, consciousness, interdependence, craftsmanship, and positive relationships. 8. Frequently participates in activities that foster personal learning and growth as an educator as well as school growth. 9. Maintains professional competence by attending staff development programs, curriculum development meetings, and other professional activities. 10. Participates in various student and parent activities which occur in school. 11. Possesses knowledge of assessments and their analysis/interpretation in regard to student achievement. 12. Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with instructional personnel, building administrators, teachers, and parents. 13. Demonstrates the ability to present and deliver analytical data in an articulate manner to a variety of audiences, including oral presentations and written reports. 14. Demonstrates the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school personnel, teachers, administrators, and parents. 15. Demonstrates effective organization and administrative management skills. 16. Complies with all contractual duties, Board of Education policies, and administrative procedures; adheres to state and federal laws and regulations. 17. Exhibits ethical behavior and integrity and maintains confidentiality for all school-related responsibilities. 18. Cooperates with and participates in the planning and evaluation of the school program. 19. Provides suggestions, requests, requisitions, and other input in the development of the annual school budget, as requested. 20. Assists in the development and implementation of formal curriculum, as requested. 21. Assumes responsibility for own professional development; for keeping current with the literature, new research findings, and improved knowledge and techniques; and for attending appropriate professional meetings. 22. Lifts, carries, or otherwise physically manages students, as necessary. 23. Maintains a positive attitude toward job-related growth and development. 24. Develops and maintains positive and active relations and effective communications with students, staff, parents, community members, and community organizations. 25. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor/s and Superintendent. Application Procedure:
