PRN Rad Tech Opportunity

Operates x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body under the supervision of a radiologist. Prepares and administers barium salts or other chemical mixtures. Prepares and maintains records and files as directed. Cleans and adjusts equipment.

Essential Functions:

• Prepares room and equipment for patient.
• Prepares the patient and explains the procedure; observes the patient's status before, during and after procedure.
• Arranges, attaches, or adjusts immobilization and support devices to obtain precise positions and prevent patient from moving.
• Administers contrast media with instructions to patients.
• Practices radiation protection techniques, minimize radiation to patient and staff, following established safety protocols.
• Provides training to students, staff and physicians.
• Develops film and assesses technical quality; seeks appropriate consultation to repeat radiographs.
• Uses automated technology to archive, copy, film, and manipulate image data.
• Maintains x-ray exams log.
• Uses all department systems, including order entry, scheduling, patient location, and transport, and radiology information system.
• Maintains inventory control; checks equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular basis; performs routine daily equipment maintenance and cleaning.
• Adheres to TMC organizational and department-specific safety, confidentiality, values, policies and standards.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
• Experience: One (1) year of experience operating radiograph equipment.
• Licensure or Certification: Arizona Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT), American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT), and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of radiograph equipment and how to operate machinery.
• Skill in operating and maintaining radiograph equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to complete routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to listen and accurately interpret others' communication or instructions to take appropriate action; ability to speak effectively with customers.
• Ability to calculate figures and compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs; ability to apply basic algebraic concepts.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
