Mental Health Clinician

Join El Hogar Community Services as a Full-Time Mental Health Clinician serving clients across multiple locations in the Greater Sacramento Area. Job Summary El Hogar is seeking a compassionate, recovery-oriented Mental Health Clinician to provide behavioral health, substance use, and psychosocial rehabilitation services to adults living with serious mental illness. This role provides services in both office and community settings and works collaboratively with Service Coordinators, Peer Support staff, and other multidisciplinary team members to support clients in achieving their recovery goals. Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and maintain an assigned caseload. Develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based and recovery-oriented practices. Provide individual and group therapy utilizing modalities such as CBT, DBT, psychotherapy, and other evidence-based interventions. Deliver crisis intervention and ongoing case management services. Assist clients with housing support, independent living skills, community resources, and service coordination. Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed. Maintain timely and accurate documentation in compliance with El Hogar, Sacramento County, and Medi-Cal requirements. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate quality client care. Educate clients and their support systems on mental health, recovery, coping skills, and available community resources. Maintain professional licensure/registration, participate in utilization review activities, and adhere to ethical standards and HIPAA/PHI confidentiality requirements. Minimum Qualifications Required: Master's degree in Social Work or a related mental health field. Current California BBS license or associate registration that qualifies as an LPHA or LPHA-W (including AMFT, ASW, APCC, LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or Licensed Clinical Psychologist). Ability to meet Sacramento County credentialing requirements. Valid California driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of personal auto insurance. Preferred: Experience working with adults with serious mental illness. Experience treating co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Knowledge of Medi-Cal documentation and billing requirements. Familiarity with 12-Step programs or substance use recovery. Experience using electronic health records (SmartCare experience is a plus).
