Direct Service Advocate – Holyoke Young Parent Program Springfield, MA – Part Time (15 hours bi‑weekly; every other weekend 3pm‑11pm). The position is FLSA Non‑Exempt. Qualifications A.A. or equivalent education in a human services field. One year of counseling or direct service experience. Experience with victims of domestic violence preferred. Reliable transportation and/or valid driver’s license preferred. Must be able to lift 40 lbs. Responsibilities Provide support, advocacy, and role modeling to adult, teen, and child program participants living in the YWCA’s residential programs. Conduct safety checks on residents and children; ensure mothers supervise children at all times. Encourage development of life skills, positive parenting, and improved parent‑child interaction; offer support to mothers during crises. Document and provide daily program communication, including case notes, resident files, and communication logs for every shift utilizing AWARDS. Perform upkeep of the facility and property, ensuring all chores are completed before signing off on the chore list. Follow program procedures, rules, regulations, and policies; maintain a safe and supportive environment, including completing required safety sweeps at least four times each shift.
