Hospital Switchboard Operator / Telephone OperatorImmediate need for a talented Hospital Switchboard Operator / Telephone Operator. This is a 06+ months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Portland, OR (Onsite).Pay Range: $30 - $33/hour. Traveler benefits as per agency package. (Benefits vary by vendor and assignment.)Key Responsibilities:Receive, screen, and route a high volume of incoming calls through an electronic switchboard system.Take and relay telephone messages accurately and promptly.Greet, assist, escort, and direct visitors as needed.Provide general information and telephone directory assistance to callers and visitors.Maintain accurate on-call staff schedules.Support hospital response procedures for emergencies, drills, and code calls as directed.Use computer systems, databases, and email to support daily operations.Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, visitors, staff, and providers.Work effectively in an environment with multiple tasks, interruptions, and changing priorities.Key Requirements and Technology Experience:High School Diploma or equivalent.1 year of operator, switchboard, receptionist, call center, or customer service experience.Strong English language skills.Excellent interpersonal communication and conflict management skills.Ability to multitask in a busy environment with frequent distractions.Basic computer proficiency, including:Windows programsEmail systemsDatabase systemsStrong patience, courtesy, and professionalism when working with others.Prior healthcare, hospital, or medical center experience.Experience operating a multi-line phone or electronic switchboard.Our client is a leading Healthcare Industry and we are currently interviewing to fill this and other similar contract positions.
