Job Type: 5+ Month Contract (Potential for Extension or Direct Hire)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 40 Hours/Week
Pay: Up to $42.00/hr (W2)
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer / Procurement Specialist to support procurement activities in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and contracts, issue purchase orders, and ensure on-time delivery of materials. This role works closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams while maintaining procurement documentation and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Manage purchasing activities for materials, components, and services.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supplier agreements.
- Create and manage purchase orders and procurement documentation.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Perform cost and price analysis and support supplier selection.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with company policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of procurement, purchasing, or sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Experience with contracts, purchase orders, and vendor management.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Government/FAR procurement experience is a plus.
