FOOD SERVICE WORKER/CASHIER (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)

Job Overview Location: Abilene Christian University, 1600 Campus Court, Abilene, TX 79601. Note: online applications accepted only. Positions: Full‑time and part‑time FOOD SERVICE WORKER/CASHIER. Schedule: Full‑time schedule; days and hours may vary, morning and evening shifts. More details upon interview. Requirements: Prior food service and cashier experience is preferred. Maintains sanitation standards in the preparation, service, and dining room facilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables. Weigh and measure designated ingredients. Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards. Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment. Store foods in designated areas in accordance with wrapping, dating, and food safety and rotation procedures. Clean work areas, equipment and utensils. Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements. Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control. Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service. Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a friendly, service‑oriented manner. Relay relevant information to supervisor. Perform sales transactions. Enter sales into the cash register to ensure purchases are accurately recorded. Make change, accept declining balance cards and other acceptable forms of payment. Issue receipts to customers. Follow standard procedures for issuing cash refunds. Be responsible for all assigned change funds and cash receipts, ensuring that the cash drawer is in compliance with overage/shortage standards. Replenish condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining service area cleanliness. Perform other duties as assigned.
