The practice consists of three surgeons, 4 Operative NP/PAs and 2 non-operative NP/PAs. Due to a retirement, the practice is recruiting for an operative NP/PA to maintain current staffing for this busy practice.The current staffing model consists of 4 physician assistants who function primarily in the operating room (first assist, conduit harvesting) and inpatient(ICU/Step-down rounds). The other individuals function in a nonsurgical role concentrating primarily on inpatient rounds and the outpatient clinic practice.This position is an operative position and therefore the primary focus is acting as a first assist in the operating room for Cardiothoracic cases and coverage of both non-ICU inpatient and surgical call. Secondary responsibilities include hospital rounds, consults/discharges on hospital patients, and postoperative clinic visits.During the selection process you may participate in an OnDemand (pre-recorded) interview that you can complete at your convenience. The complete interview will be reviewed by a Mayo Clinic staff member and you will be notified of next steps.QualificationsTwo years of NP of PA experience preferred; motivated new graduates may be considered.Acute Care Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program.
