Software Development Manager, Edge Observability

Salary: $110,000 - 150,000 per year Requirements:

• We are looking for 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• We need 7+ years of direct experience working within engineering teams.
• We require 3+ years of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• We are seeking 8+ years of experience leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services.
• We expect knowledge of engineering practices and patterns across the full software, hardware, and networks development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live site operations.
• We value experience partnering with product or program management teams.
• Preferred: experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to gather requirements, describe software features, technical designs, and product strategy.
• Preferred: experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring, coaching, and managing Software Engineers to help them grow and become more effective.

• We manage a team of software developers to deliver projects on time with high quality and strong innovation.
• We build scalable log event streaming and telemetry platforms that support agentic operations, internal visibility, and customer observability.
• We stay close to the technology, remain engaged in engineering details, make sound trade-offs, and stay deeply customer-focused.
• We establish best practices for software development, testing, and documentation, and we drive process improvements.
• We partner with product management and cross-functional teams to design and deliver technical solutions that support the desired user experience across a broad range of products.
• We drive observability across edge services spanning CloudFront, AGA, WAF, and Shield.
• We collaborate with peers and stakeholders across AWS teams while owning log event streaming sub-services, telemetry, internal visibility, and customer observability.
• We handle short- and long-term planning for our area and team, aligning work with growth opportunities for our engineers.
• We participate in recruiting, hiring, mentoring, building a positive team culture, and leading experienced engineers to execute quickly and effectively.
• We connect with customers regularly, build team roadmaps, provide status updates to senior executives, and demonstrate creativity and sound judgment.
