Outpatient Pharmacy Technician - Tier IIIThis position provides technical support to pharmacists by preparing unit doses, handling data entry, delivering medications, and managing cartfill exchanges. The role requires accountability and accuracy in adherence to standard operating procedures while working under the supervision of a pharmacist responsible for the safe distribution and use of drugs for patients of all ages.ResponsibilitiesPrepare, mix, and compound sterile medications, including chemotherapy, following aseptic procedures.Perform pharmaceutical calculations to verify medication dosages.Clean and maintain engineering controls and equipment for compounding sterile medications.Assist pharmacists by entering orders, filling unit dose medications, and maintaining medication profiles.Load and refill medications into automated dispensing cabinet stations.Maintain manufacturing logs to ensure regulatory compliance.Prioritize new order labels to ensure timely delivery to designated locations.Essential SkillsState of Oregon Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT)PTCB National Pharmacy Technician Certification1-3 years of Pharmacy Technician experienceAbility to read and understand medical-related termsSkill in pharmaceutical mathematics calculationsStrong communication skillsHigh attention to detailTeam-player with strong problem-solving abilitiesExperience in de-escalating situations with upset patients/customersAdditional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDAbility to manipulate small objects such as needles and syringesKnowledge and application of aseptic techniqueAbility to establish priorities in workflowStrong time-management and multi-tasking skillsWork EnvironmentThe position is located at the Outpatient Pharmacy in Portland, OR, working Monday through Friday with some weekends required. The workday starts at 9:00 AM and ends at 5:30 PM. The initial assignment length is 13 weeks, with a high likelihood of extension and potential for permanent employment.
