Data Engineer - Healthcare IT

To support the CMS Reporting and Quality division, the full-time salaried Data Engineer - Healthcare IT will design, build, and operate data integration and processing pipelines using Databricks and AWS, focusing on Medicare claims data and quality measure outputs. Key responsibilities Design and maintain scalable data pipelines in Databricks for integrating and transforming healthcare data Develop and optimize Databricks jobs and workflows for large-scale claims processing Implement automated data validation frameworks and ensure compliance with data security requirements for sensitive information Required qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Data Science, or a similar field Minimum of 7+ years of experience in data engineering or ETL/ELT development 3+ years of hands-on experience with Databricks using Spark (Scala and/or PySpark) and SQL Experience with AWS data services such as S3, Glue, Lambda, and Redshift Familiarity with large-scale healthcare data and HIPAA compliance for PII and PHI protection
