ERP Administrator Salary: $50,100.00 - $58,450.00 Annually Description To perform technical duties related to the daily operations, administration, integration, security, and support of the College's enterprise resource planning (ERP) environment. This position also performs server administration and related application support for administrative systems; coordinates assigned activities with other College departments, the North Carolina Community College System, Ellucian, and other outside agencies; and supports the stability, security, and effectiveness of the College's administrative technology environment. Examples of Duties Essential and other responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Essential Functions: Administer, maintain, and support the ERP environment, including applications, administrative modules, integrations, security, upgrades, testing, and related operational processes. Serve as a technical resource for ERP implementation, configuration, troubleshooting, release coordination, documentation, and ongoing support. Manage and administer ERP user security, roles, access, and permissions in coordination with functional offices, Technology Services leadership, and applicable security policies. Assist with data integrations, reporting needs, APIs, file transfers, and third-party system connections related to ERP systems, and other administrative applications. Configure, install, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot server software and related administrative application environments, including Windows Server, Linux/UNIX, cloud-hosted, and vendor-managed systems as applicable. Monitor administrative systems for performance, reliability, availability, backups, audit needs, and security concerns. Assist with operating system, database, middleware, and application software release levels in the administrative server environment as published by vendors. Assist with the installation, documentation, testing, and validation of new ERP releases, patches, upgrades, and system changes. Provide technical support, training, and guidance to end users, functional leads, and other Technology Services staff. Assist in the administration and support of document imaging, data warehousing, reporting, self-service, intranet applications, e-procurement, and other enterprise application environments. Work with software and hardware vendors, Ellucian, the North Carolina Community College System, and state personnel to resolve issues and support contractual or technical requirements. Review vendor software bulletins, release notes, security advisories, and technical documentation to avoid potential problems and install updates or modifications as required. Work with network, security, systems, and functional staff to maintain, update, configure, and troubleshoot communications between ERP systems, servers, cloud services, and third-party applications. Evaluate, install, configure, test, document, and troubleshoot third-party software and tools used in support of ERP and administrative operations. Assist with the administration, installation, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of on-premises data center and server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers, storage systems, racks, cabling, UPS systems, and related technology equipment. Assist with hardware installation, replacement, upgrades, equipment lifecycle activities, and other data center operations as assigned. Maintain documentation that describes the ERP and administrative server environment, integrations, security configurations, operational procedures, and support processes. Participate in annual audits, cybersecurity reviews, disaster recovery planning, emergency preparedness, and business continuity activities as requested. Collaborate with ERP administrators, system administrators, functional users, and technology leaders across the College, community college system, and system office. Participate in governance, implementation, project planning, change management, issue resolution, testing, disaster recovery and communication efforts as requested Participate in professional development and required employee training. Marginal Functions: Recommend and implement procedures to improve administrative system environments. Provide staff support to a variety of boards and committees; attend and participate in professional group meetings; stay abreast of new trends and innovations in ERP systems, cloud services, information systems, cybersecurity, and higher education technology. Perform other duties as necessary. This position description covers the most essential functions and duties associated with this position. Qualifications and Working Conditions Knowledge of: Ellucian Banner ERP software, Ellucian Colleague software, or other college administrative software. Windows server, Linux, UNIX, virtualization technologies, database technology, scripting, APIs, and file transfer applications. ERP implementation, configuration, security administration, integrations, testing, documentation, and support practices. Administrative systems used in higher education, including self-service, portal, reporting, data warehousing, document imaging, and related third-party applications. Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, SaaS, hosted, cloud, or hybrid administrative system environments. Windows Server, Linux, UNIX, database technology, middleware, scripting, APIs, file transfers, and application server concepts. Computer languages, file structures, data integration methods, reporting tools, and system documentation practices. Computer fundamentals, operations, programming techniques, server administration, and cybersecurity principles. Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes, regulations, and policies, including data privacy, FERPA, records retention, and information security requirements. Methods and techniques of report preparation, record keeping, project documentation, and technical communication. English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Operational characteristics of equipment, systems, and applications used in the area of work assigned. North Carolina Community College System software, databases, reporting requirements, and administrative processes. Disaster recovery, emergency preparedness, backup, and business continuity procedures. Ability to: Administer, support, test, and troubleshoot Banner, Colleague, and related administrative applications. Perform server administration tasks in Windows Server, Linux, UNIX, cloud, hosted, or hybrid environments as assigned. Analyze complex needs and requirements and translate them into appropriate, secure, efficient processes and technical solutions. Configure, test, monitor, document, and maintain ERP security, roles, integrations, application settings, and related procedures. Troubleshoot software, system, integration, access, performance, and data flow issues to successful resolution. Coordinate effectively with functional departments, vendors, system office personnel, auditors, and Technology Services staff. Prepare and maintain clear work records, technical documentation, administrative reports, and project materials. Interpret and apply Federal, State, local, system office, College, and departmental policies, laws, and regulations. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Interpret, explain, and enforce departmental policies and procedures. Understand and follow oral and written instructions. Work independently in the absence of supervision and manage multiple priorities with attention to detail. Use productivity tools, collaboration tools, and Microsoft Office products to perform job duties required for communication, documentation, and reporting. Environmental Conditions: The employee should have the ability to effectively handle a work environment and conditions which involve an office workspace,. The employee must maintain assigned environments by maintaining equipment and supplies, ensuring overall cleanliness, functionality, and conformance to OSHA standards to provide a safe work environment. Physical Conditions: Physical and marginal functions require the ability to maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods, moderate lifting and carrying, general manual dexterity, operating assigned equipment, and extended exposure to computer screens. The employee is required to maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for making observations, reading and writing, operating assigned equipment, communicating with others, and handling varied tasks simultaneously. Additionally, the employee must maintain mental capacity, which permits making sound decisions and using good judgment, demonstrating intellectual capabilities, and evaluating the effectiveness of programs and personnel. Scheduling Conditions: This is a full-time, 12-month position, which requires the employee to be on campus or at an approved alternate location for at least thirty-six hours per week, Monday through Thursday, 8:00am-5:00pm, and Friday, 8:00am-12:00pm. This position generally works daytime hours, but has the potential for occasional evening or weekend hours, particularly during system upgrades, implementation activities, system maintenance windows, outages, or other critical administrative system needs. Traveling Conditions: Local travel between the Caldwell campus, Watauga campus, or any off-campus sites may be needed. Out-of-state travel is limited but may be required for ERP implementation, Ellucian training, conferences, or other professional development. Experience and Training Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in enterprise application administration, ERP support, systems administration, database/application support, Windows Server, Linux, UNIX, or a closely related technology area required. Experience with Ellucian Banner, Ellucian Colleague, higher education administrative systems, ERP implementation, integrations, reporting, security administration, cloud systems, or server administration preferred. Certifications in Ellucian products, Linux, Microsoft, networking, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, database administration, project management, or other related areas preferred. Training: Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Degree in programming, computer science, information systems, information technology, business systems, or a technology-related field preferred.
