Associate Technician 2nd shift M-F 3p-11p

Requisition I : 923870 Store # : WM0142 Optical Direct Edge & Mount OMAHA Position : Full-Time Overview Since 1915, Walman Optical has served thousands of independent eye care professionals providing solutions for optical needs. The Associate Technician is responsible for the set-up, operation, and basic maintenance of equipment within the assigned area in surface or finish portions of lab production. Responsibilities Perform various tasks of area production machine functions. Interpret Rx work tickets. Operate specified equipment in accordance with established procedures. Perform basic/routine maintenance of assigned equipment. Troubleshoot mal-functioning equipment and advise supervisor on remedies. Perform tasks such as lens wash, tool selection/replacement, equipment set up for daily production, and equipment clean up at day's end. Prepare necessary solutions or slurry mixtures for lens production process and ensure supply availability. Perform daily and weekly calibration of equipment as directed. Communicate effectively with all levels of laboratory staff. Maintain work area and department common areas tidy and organized. Follow all company and laboratory policies, procedures, and safety rules, maintain confidentiality. Assist others to meet deadlines and maintain workload balance; cooperate with employees and maintain a positive attitude. Provide training, direction, and technical guidance for less experienced employees; attend in-house or sponsored training as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. This position requires exposure to hazardous substances/chemicals and requires safety training. Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience. Ability to multi-task, detail-oriented, and operate in a fast-paced environment. Basic high school level math skills. Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
