Saw Operator

Location: Kentwood, MI
Shift: 2nd Shift
Pay: $18.39 per hour

Job Summary

Are you a motivated and detail-oriented individual looking for a new opportunity? We're seeking a Saw Operator to join our team in Kentwood, MI. In this role, you'll be a vital part of our operations, helping ensure materials are accurately cut and processed to meet customer specifications and internal quality standards.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Saw Operator, your core responsibilities will include:

Operate Saw Equipment: Set up and operate saw machinery to cut materials according to specifications and ensure consistent quality output.

Material Handling: Load and unload materials from the saw while maintaining efficiency and safety throughout the process.

Quality & Measurement: Use measuring devices such as tape measures and calipers to ensure materials meet required dimensions and quality standards.

In addition, you will also be expected to perform preventative maintenance, maintain a clean work area, report shortages, complete hourly production and quality reporting in the ERP system, and collaborate with maintenance and management to resolve production issues.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you should have the following:

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred

Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks including standing, kneeling, twisting, pushing, and pulling

Skills:

Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to understand equipment operation and read/interpret prints for accurate material cutting

Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy when measuring, cutting, and recording production data

Teamwork & Communication: Ability to work effectively with team members and communicate issues clearly to maintain workflow
