Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg (Acute Care) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience and at least 1 prior travel assignment.

Details

• Acute care medical/surgical unit in a hospital setting
• 44-bed unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5, potentially 1:6
• CNA support available on the unit, typically at a 1:8–1:10 ratio
• Telemetry monitoring available, though monitored from a separate unit
• MEDITECH EMR in use; experience preferred but not required
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required on an as-needed basis
• Floating required to other acute care units, cardiology (for medical patients), and the EC for acute care patient holds
• 17-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license — GA state or Compact license required
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications (both must be AHA-issued)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or acute care nursing experience
• At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment required
• A copy of your Driver's License is required for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility (based on Driver's License address) to be eligible

Additional Information

• Orientation consists of approximately 1 week of general orientation (including EMR training) followed by 2 days of floor-specific orientation
• Scrub color requirement: Caribbean Blue
• Candidates who have been employed by this facility within the last 12 months are not eligible for placement
• Any time-off or scheduling requests must be submitted prior to the start of the assignment
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position — prior travel experience is required
