Human Resources Associate

Location: New York City (On-site/Hybrid). Candidates without Payroll experience cannot be considered at this time. My client is a highly regarded global risk advisory and professional services firm looking to hire an Associate, HR Operations to join their growing HR team based in New York City. The ideal candidate will already have experience within a professional services environment, supporting HR operations across the full employee lifecycle. However, my client has also seen success from candidates within adjacent industries who have strong HR administration and payroll experience in fast-paced corporate environments. They are looking for a highly organised HR professional to become the backbone of the day-to-day HR function, providing operational support across onboarding, offboarding, payroll, benefits, and employee administration while partnering closely with the Director of HR. Key responsibilities of the role: Support the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding through to offboarding Act as the primary point of contact for new hires, coordinating onboarding activities and HR documentation Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data Support semi-monthly payroll processing, ensuring employee changes are processed accurately and on time Assist with benefits administration, enrolments, and employee life event updates Coordinate offboarding processes, including exit interviews, termination documentation, and compliance requirements Respond to employee queries relating to payroll, benefits, and HR policies Process employment verifications and support unemployment enquiriesMaintain personnel files and HR documentation in line with company policies and employment legislation Partner with HR leadership to support continuous improvement across HR operations and employee experience The successful candidate MUST have: 2-4 years of HR Operations, HR Coordinator, or HR Administration experience Previous experience supporting payroll processes and employee lifecycle administrationHands-on experience with HRIS platforms such as HiBob, ADP, or similar systems Knowledge of benefits administration and HR compliance Working knowledge of US employment legislation including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and COBRA Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle confidential information professionally A proactive, organised, and solutions-focused approach within a fast-paced environment Candidates with experience within professional services, consulting, legal, financial services, or other corporate environments are strongly encouraged to apply.
