PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Assist with the daily operation of special education department providing clerical services to support staff.QUALIFICATIONS :
Education/Certification High school diploma or GED Special Knowledge / Skills Proficient typing, keyboarding, file maintenance, and scheduling skills Some knowledge of spreadsheets, databases and create word processing documents Knowledge of correct English usage, grammar, spelling and punctuation Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Knowledge of general office equipment Experience Scheduling, filing, and processing experience preferredMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :
Records, Reports, and Correspondence 1. Prepare correspondence, memorandums, and forms for the support staff using personal computer or typewriter. 2. Maintain physical and computerized departmental files. 3. Schedule meetings and appointments and maintain calendar for individual support staff members. Phones 4. Answer incoming calls; take reliable messages and route to appropriate staff; handle questions and requests that fall within level or responsibility. Other 5. Sort and distribute mail and other documents to department support staff. 6. Assist students, teachers, and parents as needed. 7. Receive, store, and issue supplies and equipment. 8. Maintain confidentiality. 9. Attendance is an essential job function. 10. Other duties as assigned.
