Quality Manager

Location: Trotwood, OH

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) within our electrical transformer manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for ensuring products meet internal quality standards, customer requirements, and applicable industry regulations. The Quality Manager will lead quality initiatives, manage quality personnel, drive continuous improvement efforts, and collaborate across departments to ensure product quality, compliance, and operational excellence.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field preferred
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred

Experience Requirements

• 7+ years of quality management experience in a manufacturing environment
• 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
• Experience in electrical equipment, power distribution, heavy manufacturing, or transformer manufacturing preferred
• Strong understanding of transformer testing, including electrical, insulation, and mechanical testing preferred
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems (QMS)
• Proficiency in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
• Ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Experience leading audits, supplier quality programs, and continuous improvement initiatives

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System in compliance with ISO standards and customer requirements
• Lead internal and external audits and oversee corrective actions
• Manage incoming, in-process, and final inspection processes
• Ensure transformer testing meets performance and safety requirements
• Analyze quality metrics and implement improvement strategies
• Manage customer complaints, warranty claims, and supplier quality programs
• Lead, coach, and develop Quality Engineers, Technicians, and Inspectors
• Champion Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce defects, scrap, rework, and warranty costs
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, customer, and regulatory standards
• Partner with Engineering, Operations, Procurement, and EHS teams to support quality and safety objectives

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work on-site in a manufacturing environment
• Occasional travel to customer and supplier locations, including possible international travel
