This is an operations position: the successful candidate will combine pharmacist-level judgment on product integrity, regulatory compliance, and RX handling with hands-on ownership of inbound receiving, stowing, inventory accuracy, and fulfillment center quality assurance.Key Responsibilities:Safety & Risk ManagementPartner with safety leadership teams to enhance processes and maintain a safe work environment for all associatesFacilitate weekly safety meetings with IC leadership and hourly team members to identify risks within the fulfillment centerIdentify risks associated with inventory inconsistencies, product quality, or process inefficiencies, and formulate strategies to mitigate them while maintaining operational continuityInventory Control & Inbound OperationsOwn end-to-end inventory control, including inbound operations (receiving, inspection, and stowing) for pharmaceutical productsManage all receiving and storage functions across the facilityEnsure inventory accuracy, lot traceability, and expiration and/or beyond use date across the fulfillment centerSupervise inventory reconciliation, cycle counting, and audit procedures; identify and correct discrepancies and implement preventive measuresDeploy inventory control strategies to optimize stock levels, minimize losses, and ensure accurate inventory countsInvestigate root causes of inventory discrepancies using cause-and-effect analysis to resolve underlying issuesOwn and standardize the product catalog across all sites, resolving naming and classification gapsMonitor inventory metrics and KPIs to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvementSOX ComplianceMaintain thorough command of Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) requirements as they apply to inventory operationsConduct and oversee quarterly SOX countsBuild the counting schedule in alignment with parameters set by the Director of IC to meet SOX compliance count deadlinesPharmacy Oversight Responsibility (only applicable if a pharmacist is hired)Provide direct pharmacist oversight of inventory-related functions, ensuring products meet pharmaceutical, safety, and handling standardsServe as the primary sign-off authority for purity checks and Certificates of Analysis (COAs), streamlining processes that currently pull pharmacists from other departmentsResponsible for NCR action completion and record keepingStreamline line catalog item creation ensuring standardized nomenclature across the networkFormulate and execute inventory control protocols for pharmaceutical product receipt, storage, picking, packing, and shippingPerform routine inspections and quality audits to evaluate SOP adherence and inventory discrepanciesOversee all pharmacist tech workflow and operations within the receive and inventory functions of pharmacy fulfillment centerPrepare internal reports supporting defect-injection improvement efforts for the pharmacy fulfillment centerOversee pharmacy technician trainees through registration, growing the internal technician pool available to Receiving, D&F, and CompoundingTeam Leadership & People DevelopmentLead a team of salaried area managers and up to 30 hourly associatesRecruit, train, and develop IC personnel, providing coaching, feedback, and performance assessments to support their professional growthSet clear objectives and targets for the IC team, aligning their work with organizational goalsConduct shift scheduling and forecasting, and oversee task assignments to ensure adequate staffing against FC objectivesEvaluate team performance, offering development, recognition, and guidancePromote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement across the IC teamBuild a structured growth path for IC Specialists, supporting pharm tech certification required for Rx receivingProcess Improvement & Cross-Functional PartnershipDesign and implement process optimization strategies to improve accuracy, throughput, and inventory turnoverLead or actively participate in continuous improvement projects, applying lean principles to streamline processes, reduce waste, and increase productivityCollaborate with cross-functional teams to instill inventory management best practices and drive continuous improvement initiativesPartner with logistics, compliance, and pharmacy operations to maintain chain-of-custody and traceabilityRepresent IC in cross-site alignment on product data, sign-off processes, and inventory standardsStrategic ReportingCreate and deliver strategic insights, performance metrics, and initiatives to executive leadershipCommunicate progress, obstacles, and strategic developments to leadership on an ongoing basisMonitor key inventory and quality metrics and lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) as neededYou Have:RequiredActive Pharmacist license (RPh or PharmD) in good standingThorough understanding of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), including experience conducting or overseeing SOX countsWorking knowledge of regulatory frameworks relevant to pharmaceutical distribution, including state board of pharmacy regulations, DEA/controlled substance handling, Good Distribution Practices (GDP), and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP)Strong analytical, root-cause, and risk management skills, with the ability to translate findings into process improvementsDemonstrated ability to lead a team of salaried managers and hourly associates (up to ~30) in a fast-paced, high-volume environmentPreferredPrior experience in pharmaceutical operations, logistics, or inventory controlExperience in a fulfillment center or distribution center environmentExperience training or supervising pharmacy techniciansFamiliarity with lean principles and continuous improvement methodologiesDemonstrated interest in people management, scheduling, and team leadershipSalary Range: $0 - $0Our BenefitsOffering competitive benefits are a top priority for our company;
