School Psychologist, PT The School Psychologist will coordinate and implement psychological services, which include academic and behavioral consultation emphasizing the problem‑solving model, psychoeducational assessment, individual/group counseling, and crisis intervention. The School Psychologist will collaborate with administrators, teachers, other school personnel, parents, and community agencies to support students’ educational needs and will report directly to the Supervisor of Psychological Services. Responsibilities Participate actively in problem‑solving teams to define student difficulties, develop interventions, and monitor response to interventions. Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations of referred students in accordance with departmental standards and state/federal regulations. Interpret educational data and psychological findings to parents, school personnel, and other professionals during individual conferences and team meetings. Consult with parents, students, school staff, and other professionals regarding student, class, school or district issues. Maintain knowledge of legal, ethical, and professional issues related to the practice of school psychology. Participate in school and district‑level meetings as directed by the Supervisor of Psychological Services. Complete comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations and produce written reports utilized for educational planning. Maintain accurate records regarding services provided. Participate in the formulation and implementation of in‑school intervention programs. Provide mental health services to students. Participate in professional development activities to enhance practice and provide professional development to other educators and parents. Initiate, participate in, and contribute to the development of a school environment conducive to learning. Perform any other duties as assigned. Qualifications Experience: 1,200 hours internship or equivalent. Certificates/Licenses/Registrations: Florida Professional Educator Certificate in School Psychology. Language Skills: Read, analyze, and interpret complex documents; respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints; write speeches and make persuasive speeches on controversial or complex topics to various audiences. Mathematical Skills: Add and subtract two‑digit numbers; multiply and divide with 10s and 100s; perform operations using units of American money, weight, volume, and distance. Reasoning Ability: Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form; handle abstract and concrete variables. Computer Skills: Knowledge of relevant and current computer software programs. Physical Demands Standing, walking, sitting, handling, keyboarding, talking, and hearing; lift up to 10 pounds; reach with both dominant and non‑dominant hand; noise intensity moderate. Other Requirements This position requires traveling to various school sites, work locations, and/or community organizations throughout the district.
