Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity providing dedicated care as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) within a school setting. In this role, you will offer essential 1:1 support to a medically fragile student, fostering a safe and positive educational environment. This assignment is conveniently scheduled on Wednesdays only, making it ideal for professionals seeking supplemental hours or work-life balance.
Key Qualifications:
- Current LPN license valid in the state of Connecticut
- Active BLS/CPR certification
- Previous experience in school nursing or pediatric care preferred
- Demonstrated professionalism and reliability
- Compassionate communication and a calm approach in sensitive situations
Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive, individualized nursing care to a student during school hours (Wednesdays, 7:30 AM – 2:30 PM; 12:10 PM if early release)
- Monitor, document, and address the student's health needs, ensuring safety and comfort in the school environment
- Administer prescribed medications and perform necessary nursing interventions as required by the student’s care plan
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support the student’s participation in school activities
- Comply with all school policies, health protocols, and confidentiality guidelines
