Manufacturing Technician I

We are a 5‑year running Top Workplace in the Greater St. Louis area. Job Summary Leonardo DRS is seeking full‑time Manufacturing Technicians for our Bridgeton, MO facility. The position involves electro‑mechanical and cable harness assembly, disassembly and rework, testing and repair of electronic products and mechanical assemblies, working from wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications and sketches of varying complexity. Responsibilities Perform electro‑mechanical assembly, disassembly and rework, including testing and repair of electronic products and mechanical assemblies. Work from complex wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications and sketches of significant complexity. Provide routine technical support to engineers and scientists on standard components, devices, material, products, processes and/or equipment. Test, modify, rework, repair, and build electronic, optical or mechanical assemblies. Design and/or test prototype assemblies and production units. Perform related manufacturing processes. Interpret and follow documents such as SOPs and safety rules. Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements, including State and Federal regulations and certifications. Interface with other departments to assure efficient flow of information and materials. Meet production deadlines, quality of finished product, raw material stock levels, and compliance outcomes (KPIs). Coordinate several activities simultaneously and reprioritize in response to changing operational conditions. Read and develop wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications for system or equipment modifications or expansions, and direct personnel performing routine installation and maintenance duties. Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Experience handling small delicate components and using ESD practices. Knowledge of safe handling of chemicals. Good hand and eye coordination. Strong decision‑making and leadership skills. Ability to walk, sit, stand, stoop, climb, kneel, and bend for extended periods of time. Ability to lift heavy materials. Ability to access and work within restricted spaces in and around vehicles when necessary. Soldering and wire bonding experience preferred. Experience using various computer applications, including MS Office. Experience with MRP preferred. The salary range for this position is $38,774.00 per year – $48,468.00 per year for the state of Illinois. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for annual performance‑based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non‑exempt employees as applicable).
