Job Category: University Staff Employment Type: Temporary (Fixed Term) Job Profile: Food Service Assistant Job Summary: The position will work at Memorial Union’s Badger Market assisting with the daily operations including preparing and serving beverages, operating the register, stocking merchandise/food/beverages and maintaining inventory levels. The role requires a strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices to ensure a clean and welcoming environment. Excellent customer service skills are essential to create a friendly and positive experience for all patrons. Compensation: $17.00 -Plus an additional $2.50 per hour for night hours worked (6pm-6am). -Plus an additional $0.80 per hour for weekend hours worked. -Plus Time and a half per hour for hours worked on designated legal holidays. Schedule: Monday - Wednesday 7:30am - 3:30pm, Saturday and/or Sunday 7:30am - 2:30pm (Schedule requires flexibility - depending on needs for coverage) Key Job Responsibilities: Greets customers, answers questions, and provides basic information regarding food preparation and associated activities Cleans, inspects, and maintains kitchen equipment and work areas Assists and guides student workers Prepares a variety of basic dishes such as sandwiches and salads, and assists in the preparation of more complex dishes Adheres to federal, state, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures Performs routine food preparation activities such as portioning, chopping food, and serving food to customers Department: Wisconsin Union- Badger Market Compensation: $17.00 -Plus an additional $2.50 per hour for night hours worked (6pm-6am). -Plus an additional $0.80 per hour for weekend hours worked. -Plus Time and a half per hour for hours worked on designated legal holidays.
