Heavy Equipment Operator - 2nd Shift

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Crane Operator to operate a large stationary/mobile crane in an active metal recycling yard. This role involves using a crane to load and unload scrap metal, sort materials, and support daily recycling operations.

This is a hands-on, industrial position and is not entry-level. Applicants must have prior experience operating heavy equipment or cranes in a production environment. 

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Operate a crane to move, sort, and load scrap metal safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload trucks and containers using the crane.
• Stage and position materials throughout the recycling yard.
• Perform daily inspections and basic preventive maintenance on the crane.
• Communicate with ground personnel to ensure safe, coordinated lifts.
• Follow all safety rules, OSHA requirements, and company policies.

What We’re Looking For:

• Prior experience operating a crane or similar heavy equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort around large machinery.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.
