Insurance Sales Representative

The Insurance Sales Representative generates new business and grows existing customer relationships by identifying coverage needs and recommending the right auto, home, life, and health insurance solutions. You will work in our office, handling inbound and outbound calls, walk-in clients, quotes, applications, and follow-up, while delivering a first-class customer experience.

Key responsibilities include:

• Generate new business through outbound calls, follow-up on leads, referrals, community events, and networking
• Conduct needs-based conversations with prospects and customers to identify coverage gaps
• Prepare accurate quotes and present auto, home, life, and health insurance options
• Explain coverages, deductibles, premiums, and policy terms clearly and honestly
• Cross-sell and bundle products to deepen customer relationships and improve retention
• Process applications, endorsements, and policy changes accurately and in compliance with State Farm and state regulations
• Conduct periodic account reviews with existing customers
• Follow up on quotes, renewals, and referrals to convert opportunities into policies
• Maintain accurate customer records and activity notes in agency systems
• Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales goals and activity targets
• Support service needs as required, including billing questions and basic claims guidance
• Represent the agency professionally in the office and the community

Required qualifications include:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to obtain required state insurance licenses within the timeframe set by the agency
• Strong communication, listening, and persuasion skills
• Comfortable with cold calling, prospecting, and handling objections
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work in a commission-influenced environment
• Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
• Proficiency with computers, phone systems, and standard office software
• Ability to work on-site at the agency during regular business hours

Preferred qualifications include:

• Prior sales, customer service, or insurance experience
• Existing Property & Casualty and/or Life & Health licenses
• Bilingual skills (a plus)
• Ties to the local community and an existing network

Licensing requirements include:

• Property & Casualty license (auto and home)
• Life and Health license (life and health products)
• Any additional State Farm registrations, appointments, or product training required to sell these lines

The agency will provide study materials and reimburse licensing and exam fees to help new hires get licensed.

Training and development includes:

Work environment and schedule include:

• In-office position; no remote work
• Typical hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m., with occasional evening or community events
• Professional office environment with frequent phone and in-person customer contact

Compensation: $40,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
