This role focuses on welding and fabricating steel components used in table tops, chairs, and benches. You will perform a high volume of jig welding on smaller parts and carry out fabrication tasks using saws and press machines to form parts and complete units. The position suits someone who enjoys hands-on work with steel, working from setups and fixtures, and contributing to a collaborative production environment.

Responsibilities

• Weld and fabricate steel parts for table tops, chairs, and benches using MIG welding techniques.
• Perform a high volume of jig welding on smaller, repetitive parts using wire-feed equipment.
• Operate saws, press machines, and other industrial tools to cut, form, and shape steel components.
• Assemble parts and units according to established fixtures, jigs, and production requirements.
• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings when required to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly.
• Inspect welds and fabricated parts to verify quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including welding stations, tables, and benches.
• Work collaboratively in cell-based teams, coordinating tasks and supporting coworkers to meet production goals.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of welding shields and protective equipment.
• Adapt to varying production demands, including working mandatory overtime on Fridays and Saturdays as needed.

• 1–2 years of production welding experience, preferably in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• 1–2 years of farm welding experience or comparable practical welding background.
• 1–2 years of experience using industrial tools and equipment such as saws and press machines.
• Proficiency in MIG welding, including setup and operation of wire-feed welding equipment.
• Ability to perform jig welding on smaller, repetitive parts with consistency and accuracy.
• Basic ability to read and follow blueprints and drawings, or willingness to develop this skill.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality welds and fabricated components.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a cell-based production environment.
• Capability to follow safety guidelines and use appropriate personal protective equipment.

• Preferred experience reading and interpreting blueprints, even if not currently at an advanced level.
• Comfort working with steel fabrication processes, including cutting, forming, and assembling parts.
• Willingness to learn new techniques and processes through ongoing training and development.
• Reliability and flexibility to work mandatory overtime on Fridays and Saturdays when required.

Work Environment

You will work in a production facility with welding stations equipped with blue shields, tables, and benches to support fabrication tasks. Most work involves jig welding, so many tasks are performed at stationary workstations. The environment is organized around cell-based teams, where employees work closely together and depend on each other to complete projects efficiently. Standard hours are Monday through Thursday from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with mandatory overtime on Fridays and Saturdays currently in place. The setting includes typical industrial equipment such as MIG welders, wire-feed systems, saws, and press machines, and you will follow standard safety practices, including the use of appropriate protective gear.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kenyon, MN.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Kenyon,MN.
