RN Respiratory

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse will provide skilled nursing care primarily on the Respiratory unit, which admits COVID patients, with occasional float assignments to various Med-Surgical units including Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Cardiac, Observation, and ED/Med-Surg boarders. The role demands expertise in telemetry and stepdown patient care, proficiency in Epic EMR, and strong clinical skills to ensure high-quality patient outcomes. The nurse will work collaboratively within the interdisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care in a fast-paced hospital environment. Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care to patients on the Respiratory unit and various Med-Surgical units.
• Perform patient assessments, medication administration, and treatment planning.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and stepdown patient data accurately.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
• Document patient care activities and clinical information accurately using Epic EMR.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety protocols.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in Ohio.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 3 years recent experience in Telemetry and/or Stepdown nursing.
• Proficiency in Epic electronic medical records system (Epic EMR).
• Ability to accurately read and interpret telemetry monitoring.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working with respiratory patients, including COVID-19 cases.
• Previous experience in Med-Surgical nursing specialties such as Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Cardiac, and Observation units.

Special Considerations:

• No on-call requirement.
• Competency in telemetry reading will be tested on the first day; failure to demonstrate proficiency will result in termination.
• Epic EMR proficiency is mandatory with no refresher training or 1:1 coaching options available.
• Must be available to start on either September 21st or October 19th unless a returning traveler within the last 9 months.

Scheduling:

• 36 hours per week.
• Day shift from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
• Every third weekend required.
