Solution Architect

Location: Calgary/Remote

Duration: 12+ Months

Experience Required: 10 + Years

Technical/Functional Skills:

• Working experience in Mining/Oil & Gas/ Power Generation
• Working experience on - Ecosys (Project Cost Tracking), Track (Contractor Time Keeping), Terminal Management System, DataLake
• Service Oriented Architecture design experience – API’s, Micro-services, Messaging
• Knowledge of modern technologies like Cloud, AI, ML is must
• Proven recent Hands-on experience building large applications
• Proven recent Experience and demonstrable ability to use industry standard frameworks, such as TOGAF, ITIL, COBIT
• Proven recent Experience and demonstrable ability to produce meaningful models using modelling languages such as UML and ArchiMate
• Proven recent Experience and with tools such as Sparx EA and Visio are preferred
• Proven recent extensive technical knowledge and depth in infrastructure, software architecture, databases and agile product development; advanced expertise in best practices related to application design, configuration and maintenance, system administration and documentation.
• Proven recent Strong experience with SaaS platforms that run on a multi-tenant architecture
• Proficiency in creation of solution architecture and design documentation emphasizing requirements traceability in relation to business and technical requirements

Roles & Responsibilities

• Customer facing role, proactively collaborate with customer on architecture design
• Create Solution Design Document
• Ability to identify, articulate, and mitigate architecture risks associated with a given solution architecture
• Understands the role of Enterprise Architecture and associated Enterprise Architecture Principles, and how they impact Solution Architecture
• Provide software evaluation and recommendation.
• Designing major aspects of the architecture of an application, including components such as user interface, middleware, and infrastructure
• Performing design reviews
• Ensuring that uniform enterprise-wide application design standards are maintained
• Collaborating with other stakeholders to ensure the architecture is aligned with business requirements
• Identified and quantified project risks, developed risk mitigation plans, and presented status and recommendations to the executive leadership team
• Utilized industry and technical expertise to educate and influence customer decisions to adopt best practices for process improvement, solution implementation, and sustainment
• Collaborate with Business Analysts to identify impacted Use Cases and determines architectural significance (and priority) for requirements gathering.
