IT Claims Product Owner

A healthcare-focused organization is seeking an experienced IT Claims Product Owner to support initiatives related to inter-plan and inter-state claims processing. This role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in payer operations and a strong background working within client cross environments. The Product Owner will serve as the key liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams, and delivery groups. This individual will take ownership of the product lifecycle from intake through delivery, ensuring alignment, prioritization, and execution of critical enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead product ownership for claims-related initiatives, including prioritization and delivery of enhancements
• Translate business needs into detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria
• Manage and maintain the product backlog using Jira and/or Jira Align
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, and progress tracking
• Monitor and resolve defects, issues, and dependencies across the lifecycle
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business, QA, development, and operations
• Support user acceptance testing, defect triage, and production readiness activities
• Provide consistent status updates to stakeholders and leadership
• Ensure documentation, traceability, and communication are maintained throughout delivery

Required Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in healthcare payer environments
• Strong background working with client cross claims processes
• Direct experience with inter-plan or inter-state claims workflows (e.g., ITS Claims, BlueCard)
• Proven Product Owner experience within Agile frameworks
• Hands-on experience managing backlogs, defects, and delivery workflows
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with claims platforms such as Facets or similar systems
• Familiarity with BlueCard or home/host claims models
• Knowledge of EDI transactions and healthcare claims standards
• Experience in large-scale payer or enterprise environments
• Background in healthcare consulting or transformation initiatives
