Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU

Registered Nurse – PCU

Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts, including days and nights.

Assignment Details: Overall 2 years of acute care nursing experience required, with at least 1 year of experience in a progressive care unit. Patient age group includes adults and geriatrics, primarily caring for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients. Staffing ratios are targeted at 1:4, but may go to 1:5. Weekend shifts are variable based on unit needs.

Requirements:

• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• Experience in telemetry and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills
• Central line and PICC line management
• Use of computerized charting systems, specifically EPIC

Responsibilities:

• Implement infection prevention protocols
• Utilize rapid response teams as necessary
• Administer blood products and manage feeding tubes
• Monitor telemetry and respond to dysrhythmias
• Provide comprehensive patient care and support
• Ensure patient safety and fall prevention strategies are communicated and observed
