Franzenburg is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Gearbox Technician to join our production team. The Gearbox position is responsible for the disassembly, inspection, measurement, repair, and assembly of industrial centrifuge gearboxes.

As a technician, you'll work with specialized equipment and precision measuring tools to restore critical machine/gearbox components while maintaining Franzenburg's commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

What You'll Do

• Disassemble, inspect, clean, measure, repair, and reassemble industrial centrifuge gearboxes.
• Inspect gears, bearings, shafts, housings, seals, and other components for wear or damage.
• Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other measuring equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, work instructions, and assembly drawings.
• Prepare components for assembly by cleaning, inspecting, and verifying tolerances.
• Document inspection findings and communicate repair recommendations.
• Maintain accurate job tracking using company software and work order systems.
• Follow all company quality standards, safety procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
• Support production schedules, customer deadlines, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

• Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office and inventory systems preferred).
• Manufacturing, industrial maintenance, gearbox repair, machining, or mechanical assembly experience is preferred but not required—we're willing to train the right candidate.

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk throughout the workday.
• Frequently lift 20–80 pounds.
• Push, pull, bend, kneel, and reach while working on large industrial equipment.
• Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment when authorized.
• Perform repetitive hand movements while using precision tools and measuring equipment.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times in designated work areas.
