Machine Operator

Machine Operator - Grand Prairie, TX

Basic Function: Responsible for setting up, diagnosing issues, fixing, and maintaining envelope converting machines, ensuring they function correctly and produce quality products. Must have strong mechanical abilities. Training on machine setup and operation will be provided by the company.

Educational Requirements:

• High School diploma or an equivalent general education degree (GED).

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of three years' experience adjusting envelope-folding equipment.

Skill Requirements:

• Exceptional mechanical skills.
• Proficient in troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
• Able to understand and follow detailed instructions.
• Proficient in basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Capable of instructing machine operators on proper operations.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, and use tools effectively.
• Able to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs.
• Regular exposure to moving parts, vibrations, airborne particles, and adhesives.
• Work environment may include increased noise levels.
• Willing to work up to 12-hour shifts and additional hours as necessary.

Mental Requirements:

• Able to manage multiple tasks and concentrate effectively.
• Capable of handling stress related to meeting production targets.

Job Duties:

• Convert machines for various envelope sizes and styles based on the job ticket with minimal downtime.
• Adjust for optimal speeds on all folding and attachment equipment for each job.
• Ensure product quality, including proper folding, printing, gumming, latex, and other attachments.
• Verify that the correct adhesives are used for each specific job.
• Monitor machines for signs of wear, order replacement parts as necessary, maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Occasionally cover for Machine Operators during breaks.
• Keep the workspace tidy and safe.
• Train team members and other employees as needed.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies; safety is the top priority.

Salary: $25-28 per hour
