Diesel Mechanic

Position Overview Mid‑Level Diesel Technician – Lenexa, KS. Company offers weekly pay, comprehensive benefits, and a clear path for career advancement. Responsibilities Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties. Performs standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections. Conducts preventive maintenance. Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems; uses diagnostic computer when applicable. Identifies root causes of failures and performs required repairs. Replaces defective components as instructed. Performs facility maintenance duties. Interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints. Utilizes shop management system and electronic documentation. Works in compliance with federal, provincial, and corporate safety, DOT, and MOT guidelines. Performs other support duties as required, including Service Island support. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). Vocational or technical certification, post‑secondary degree, or technical certifications (preferred). Basic tools proficiency. Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work). Two (2) years or more of combined classroom training and work experience (preferred). Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A (preferred). Ability to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire. Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check (includes drug/alcohol verification for last 3 years). Additional screening may be required (employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, road test, badging, background requirements of the customer). Compensation & Benefits Hourly pay: $26.50 per hour. Certification bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification, up to $700. Quarterly bonus: up to $500 every quarter. Second shift: 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm (Monday‑Friday, weekends off). Medical, dental, vision after 30 days. 80 hours paid time off in first year, starting Day 1.
