Required Skills & Experience• Associate's degree in a technical field OR 1+ years of hands-on experience — OR 2+ years of hands-on experience in a relevant field (mechanical, electrical, or similar). • Basic mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills. • Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks under supervision. • Hands-on experience replacing equipment components. • High-level capability: Able to assess a piece of equipment and replace components (e.g., rotor stator) when given basic direction, and communicate completed work. • Ability to prioritize, adapt, and work under pressure in fast-paced environments. • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in varying outdoor conditions (heat, cold, rain, sun, etc.). • Proficiency in spoken and written English. • Subject matter expertise in at least one of the following: o Print operations o Mechanical systems o Plumbing systems o Electrical systems o Controls

Nice to Have Skills & Experience• Basic understanding of PLCs, VFDs, and their role in machinery. • Experience in construction, outdoor labor, or working with complex mechanical systems. • Ability to terminate cabling of various sizes and verify installations using test equipment. • Experience performing various types of welding.

Job Description

A Field Engineering Technician is an entry-level role responsible for learning, demonstrating, and maintaining the foundational skills needed to commission, troubleshoot, and maintain 3D printers safely and efficiently. Technicians at this level receive general instructions from Leads, Senior Technicians, and Engineers and apply their developing skills to complete a wide range of field tasks. This role involves moderately difficult assignments that require basic judgment, with escalation paths for more complex issues. Technicians are expected to maintain a growth mindset, build new competencies, avoid repeated mistakes, and consistently uphold operational disciplines, policies, and standards.

Responsibilities

• Connect and disconnect electrical, pneumatic, and network cabling to support printer mobility and setup.
• Respond to work orders and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and software issues with guidance from senior technicians or engineers.
• Accurately document work performed and update work orders in the tracking system.
• Collaborate with Print Operators to support uptime and assist in identifying root causes of technical issues.
• Escalate complex problems to senior team members and continue contributing to the resolution.
