Supervisory Financial Services Specialist

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Resource Management Flight Chief for the Force Support Squadron, responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring financial service operations and establishing internal accounting controls. Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Administrative and Management Positions. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of which equivalent to the next lower broadband NH-II, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in other pay systems. General experience - is described as employee carrying out recurring assignments independently; conducts successive activities with objectives and priorities identified by supervisor or team leader; assistance given on new or unusual projects or situations. finished work is reviewed to ensure accuracy and technical soundness. Position involves 51% or more of time in direct support of acquisition positions. OR EDUCATION The successful completion of a 4-year course study leading to a bachelor's degree. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: An equivalent combination of successfully completed, qualifying education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. General experience directly related to the work of the position may be used to meet the requirements of this position. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs) Knowledge of commonly used budgetary methods, practices, procedures, regulations, policies, and processes to formulate, justify, and execute budgets and financial goals in support of the mission, structure, goals, work processes, and programs of the organization. Knowledge of the requirements, techniques, procedures, and practices of generally accepted accounting principles and standards. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures. Knowledge of internal audit procedures to monitor financial services and establish internal controls. Knowledge of federal contracting and procurement regulations, procedures, and practices. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the operations and staff of a section. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
