We are seeking a highly autonomous, proactive, and detail-oriented assistant personal injury litigation paralegal to join our legal team. In this pivotal role, you will work hand in hand with our senior litigation paralegal. Your mission is to take ownership of the administrative and tactical litigation support, operating with high independence so the senior paralegal can focus entirely on high-level casework.

The ideal candidate possesses comprehensive knowledge of both state and federal court systems, including strict statutory deadlines and mandatory electronic filing (e-filing) procedures for both jurisdictions. While we have a dedicated Records Clerk to place actual orders, you will be the ultimate gatekeeper of case evidence—auditing Filevine project files to ensure a comprehensive set of medical and billing records is present and updated.

Key Responsibilities

• State & Federal E-Filing: Independently prepare, format, and electronically file all legal documents in both state and federal courts (e.g., CM/ECF and local state portals), strictly adhering to varying local rules.
• Meticulous Deadline Management: Masterfully calculate, track, and calendar strict statutory and court-ordered deadlines across both state and federal jurisdictions within Filervine.
• Autonomous Casework Support: Take ownership of daily file maintenance and tactical litigation tasks with little to no direction, giving the lead senior paralegal peace of mind to focus entirely on her workload.
• Conservatorship Support & Logistics: Execute the logistical lifecycle of minor conservatorships by drafting all document shells, filing completed documents, scheduling court hearings, and directly coordinating with financial institutions to establish required restricted bank accounts.
• Comprehensive Pleading & Document Shelling: Prepare initial drafts and formatting shells for all litigation documents, including complaints, motions, disclosure statements, joint reports, and scheduling orders.
• Proactive Scheduling & Coordination: Take the initiative to independently communicate and coordinate with defense counsel, clients, court staff, and mediators to schedule depositions, mediations, and hearings.
• Medical File Auditing & Oversight: Coordinate closely with the Records Clerk to audit Filevine medical collection tabs, ensuring every medical provider, facility, and billing line item is accounted for.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in personal injury litigation support or as a litigation paralegal.
• Jurisdictional Mastery: Deep, practical knowledge of both s tate and federal court procedures, deadlines, and e-filing systems such as CM/ECF.
• Software Proficiency: Hands-on, daily operational experience with Filevine case management software, Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
• Software Proficiency: Competency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and legal case management systems (e.g., Filevine, Clio, Needles).
• Conservatorship Logistics Knowledge: Clear understanding of how to file probate/minor settlement documents, interface with court schedulers, and handle the specific operational steps to set up restricted bank accounts for minors.
• High Autonomy & Initiative: Proven ability to operate with little to no direction, proactively identifying what needs to be done next and executing it seamlessly.
• Analytical File Review: Sharp eye for detail to review a case file, spot gaps in medical history, and verify that the medical record set is completely airtight.
• Teachable yet Independent: A strong desire to adapt to the senior paralegal's structural preferences while maintaining the confidence to work almost completely unprompted.
