Position Overview The Tech 2, Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) is responsible for ensuring the efficiency and operational reliability of the instrumentation and controls that support facility-wide equipment, and facility systems through effective Preventive and Corrective Maintenance and Calibration practices and know-how. Days and Nights open - 12 hour shifts. Job Description What You'll Do Performs intermediate instrumentation and controls troubleshooting, repairs, preventive and corrective maintenance to all site equipment, systems, process measurement and control, utility, laboratory, and bench-top instrumentation Performs calibrations to instrumentation and controls Follows standard procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) quality standards Provides input and recommendation for written instruction of preventive maintenance tasks and standard operating procedures (SOPs) Assists in the development of maintenance and calibration procedures and programs Performs loop checks for new instrumentation to ensure proper functionality Performs lock out tag out (LOTO) as required to complete I&C/Metrology activities Mentors' entry-level technicians Adheres to all safety requirements and follow safe work practices Notifies management or Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) when unsafe conditions or hazards are found Supports site operations and emergency work orders during off-hours, as needed Performs spare parts assessments, as required Other duties, as assigned Knowledge & Skills Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems Effective communication, both written and oral Ability to work in a team environment Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles Must be able to support 24/7 manufacturing facility, including shift, on-call, and weekends Required Skills High School Diploma/GED 2-4 years of I&C or similar experience Experience with tools and equipment used to perform maintenance work Preferred Skills Associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering or a related field Prior I&C experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing or other regulated environmentPrior experience working in a GMP environment Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Will work in environment which may necessitate respiratory protection. May work in Mechanical/Production spaces that may require hearing protection and enrollment in a hearing conservation program. Will work in environment operating a motor vehicle or Powered Industrial Truck. May be required to operate a pallet jack. Ability to discern audible cues. Ability to inspect or perform a task with 20/20 corrected vision, visual acuity, including distinguishing color. Ability to ascend or descend ladders, scaffolding, ramps, etc. Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time. Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time. Ability to conduct activities using repetitive motions that include writs, hands and/or fingers. Ability to operate machinery and/or power tools. Ability to conduct work that includes moving objects up to 33 lbs. or more with assistance. Ability to bend, push or pull, reach to retrieve materials from 18\" to 60\" in height, and use twisting motions.
