Security Officer II (Armed)

Saint Joseph, MO, United States (On-site) The Security Officer works under the supervision of the DIRECTOR – Security and the Security Managers. The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all persons, equipment, and physical property of Mosaic Life Care. Responsibilities Conduct patrols of the buildings and grounds, ensuring adequate access control and protection of caregivers and all Mosaic Life Care properties, and respond to armed threats to bring a safe resolution. Conduct inspections of the facilities looking for unsafe acts and/or conditions that threaten life safety. Operate effectively in a stressful environment where persons have experienced life‑threatening injuries and death. Control individuals with unacceptable behavior via non‑violent physical crisis intervention techniques (CPI) or the approved Force Continuum action, or other accepted practices as circumstances permit. Participate in positive public relations activities by providing assistance with information, directions, and vehicle management. Document activities and reports daily, providing information to leadership, and maintain all equipment and vehicles in a constant state of readiness. Coordinate traffic and crowd control during emergency situations and provide direction as necessary or requested. Respond to and investigate incidents in a timely manner, effectively document the facts of the case, take photos of the crime scene, and secure any evidence. Direct and/or assist Security Officer (I) in performing duties during their shift. Perform any other duties as assigned. Education H.S. Diploma – GED or HiSET equivalent – Required Two years of college, preferably in criminal justice, fire safety, or a Post‑Certified Police Academy – Preferred Work Experience At least 2 years in a position dealing with the public, preferably in law enforcement, fire safety, military security, or federal (DHS) security – Required Licenses and Certifications Driver's License – valid in state; chauffeur license or ability to obtain a valid chauffeur's driver license within 90 days – Required Driver's License – valid in state; minimum class E chauffeur license – Required upon hire Must complete the International Association of Hospital Safety and Security Basic Security Officer Exam within 120 days – Required Travel Requirements Must be able to travel between various system facilities and off‑site locations as needed – Required #J-18808-Ljbffr Mymlc
