OB Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & DeliveryThis position focuses on providing exceptional nursing care in the Labor & Delivery unit while being adaptable to float to the Medical-Surgical floor as needed. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of clinical skills, critical thinking, and emotional support capabilities to enhance the birthing experience for mothers and their families.ResponsibilitiesMonitor maternal and fetal well-being throughout the labor process.Manage labor progression and assist with the delivery process.Respond promptly to obstetric emergencies, demonstrating strong clinical judgment.Administer medications and perform cervical exams within the designated scope of practice.Interpret fetal monitoring strips and prepare patients for operative deliveries.Provide comprehensive postpartum education to mothers and families.Promote a positive birth experience and ensure optimal outcomes for both mother and newborn.QualificationsExperience in Labor & Delivery is required.Must be willing to float to the Medical-Surgical floor when the Labor & Delivery unit is closed.A valid RN license in Montana is required.Current certifications in NRP, STABLE, and BLS are necessary.The role not only demands clinical proficiency but also the ability to offer compassion and support during one of life's most significant events.
