Accounts Receivable Credit & Collections Specialist

MediaNews Group is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage credit, collections, billing, and cash receipts. In addition to handling standard specialist duties, this role is entrusted with the organization's most complex and specialized accounts, specifically serving as the subject matter expert for Adtaxi as well as other "problem" or "special handling" accounts. The ideal candidate leverages advanced technical knowledge, accounting expertise, and elevated problem-solving skills to successfully oversee these specialized, high-complexity portfolios. Although this is a remote position, candidates must reside in Colorado or Ohio. Monitor A/R aging and customer accounts to minimize past due accounts Perform customer credit analysis as needed Initiate collection calls, emails, faxes and letters Work with Advertising Managers on escalating collection actions Use and maintain A/R collections module in Advertising System(s) Perform Customer revenue and A/R trend analysis Research, interpret, and resolve complicated account issues with minimal supervision Collaborate with internal departments, including Sales, Billing, Cash Applications, and GL, to ensure accurate billing and timely collections High accountability due to the financial complexity and business impact of these key accounts Accounting and analytical skills to reconcile complex transactions, investigate discrepancies, and resolve billing issues Demonstrated ability to create Excel spreadsheets using formulas as needed as well as 10 key proficiency Interpersonal skills and team collaboration skills, along with strong customer service skills Advanced knowledge of multiple billing systems, platforms, and specialized advertising programs GED or high school diploma; The hourly range is $23.00 - $23.50.
