Role Overview The Promontory Club is looking for a Facilities HVAC / Appliance Technician. This full‑time position involves maintaining and repairing commercial HVAC and appliance systems throughout the resort. Responsibilities Perform service according to manufacturer specifications on commercial HVAC/appliance systems, including rooftop units, make‑up‑air units, exhaust fans, energy recovery systems, kitchen equipment, boilers, pumps and other HVAC systems. Use and interpret diagnostic and service equipment such as volt/ohm meters, amp clamps, manometers and vacuum gauges. Conduct preventive maintenance on HVAC/appliances. Diagnose and repair units using a variety of hand tools, following blueprints, wiring diagrams, piping schemes or engineering specifications. Stay current on operation, maintenance, service and repair procedures. Provide technical support to department team members as needed. Maintain and repair commercial kitchen equipment such as fryers, ice makers, stove tops, refrigerators and walk‑ins. Repair and install appliances as needed with minimal supervision. Possess working knowledge of specialty systems including building automation, refrigerant flow, variable speed drives, snow melt and zoning controls. Assist and support team members in other areas as needed. Assist in general maintenance tasks as needed. Demonstrate good work ethic and desire for professional and personal advancement. Adapt well to working with people at all levels. Show willingness to pursue continued education through company and industry training. Follow all company safety and security policies, including the Lock Out Tag Out program, and report accidents, injuries and unsafe practices to management. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred; associate’s degree or equivalent field experience preferred. EPA Refrigeration Certification preferred. Minimum 3 years of commercial/industrial service experience. Basic computer skills and competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required. Strong communication and organization skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment. Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background and motor vehicle checks. Must be at least 21 years of age with no requirement for sponsorship to work in the United States. Work Knowledge to Be Acquired Abide by Promontory policies and procedures; work independently with little supervision; demonstrate courteous and helpful service to Promontory Club members and employees; practice proper and timely communication. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Stand, walk and work on feet for multiple hours; lift a minimum of 50lbs regularly and up to 75lbs occasionally; work in hot and cold environments; climb stairs, use hoists and ladders; maintain close, peripheral and depth vision; perform tasks involving hands, tools and controls; comply with safety regulations; be willing to work nights, holidays and weekends as needed.
