Carrier Operations Specialist

Carrier Operations Specialist Chicago, IL & West Palm Beach, FL Full-time As a Carrier Operations Specialist at Helix Logistics, you will coordinate the transportation of loads by partnering with outsourced networks of carriers to meet our customers' needs. You will also manage the development of a client portfolio by establishing and nurturing relationships with carriers. The role will also monitor freight from beginning to end to ensure that the chosen carriers meet customer expectations. Responsibilities Prioritize and match available freight with transportation provider equipment efficiently. Serve as the liaison between carriers and customers. Track booked loads from contracting through final delivery. Collect, document, and relay accurate information to carriers, drivers, and internal teams. Manage and resolve operational issues, including accessorial charges and accounting discrepancies. Negotiate rates with carriers to secure competitive pricing. Gather market information on supply, demand, and lane rates. Prospect and develop the carrier client base. Document preferred lanes and services offered by providers. Communicate new carrier opportunities and operational improvement suggestions to customer sales and operations teams. Qualifications Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities. Ability to multitask and manage responsibilities effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment. Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a goal-oriented mindset, utilizing data for informed decision-making. Excellent teamwork skills, contributing effectively to collaborative efforts.
